Only 11 people have previously been awarded honorary membership in the Norwegian Ski Association’s 143-year history. All have been honored for their dedication to skiing, outdoor recreation, and volunteerism. In addition to Amundsen and Nansen, Crown Prince Haakon joins his father, King Harald, and his grandfather, King Olav.
In connection with the appointment, the Norwegian Ski Association was granted an exclusive interview with the Crown Prince at the Royal Palace.
